Job Overview: The Case Management Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting Extended Caseworkers in their efforts to assist refugee and immigrant clients in achieving self-sufficiency. This position is part of the PRIME (Promoting Refugee Integration, Mobility, and Empowerment) project, which aims to empower vulnerable populations, including single-headed households, survivors of domestic violence, older refugees, and youth. The Assistant is responsible for providing both administrative and direct service support, ensuring that clients receive timely and effective services that promote their autonomy and long-term stability. The role requires close collaboration with staff and clients to navigate complex systems such as healthcare, housing, and public benefits, while also maintaining accurate records and supporting the development of individualized self-sufficiency plans.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Case Management Assistant's responsibilities include supporting Extended Caseworkers in managing caseloads and tracking client progress, maintaining accurate records in the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database, and assisting clients in understanding their rights and responsibilities within various systems. The Assistant will schedule and coordinate appointments for clients, prepare orientation materials, and maintain resource lists through outreach to external service providers. Compliance with internal policies and participation in team meetings and training sessions are also essential. Additionally, the Assistant may supervise interns or volunteers and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional coursework or certification in social services, public health, or related fields preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in social services, refugee resettlement, or case management support roles is required. Lived experience as a refugee or immigrant, or experience working with vulnerable populations, is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are also necessary, along with a commitment to equity and inclusive practices.
