Job Overview: The Data Collection Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing the adherence of field staff to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data collection and ensuring that deadlines are met in accordance with the IOM Migration Program Management (MPM) guidelines. This position requires the successful candidate to develop a comprehensive monthly plan in collaboration with the Field Coordinator to ensure that all sites within the designated geographical area are adequately covered. The role involves conducting field visits to assess the quality of data collected by field staff and submitting detailed reports to the Project Assistants and Programme Officer. In emergency situations, the Data Collection Supervisor will accompany field teams to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and on time. The position also entails ensuring accurate data entry by field staff, addressing any inconsistencies, and maintaining quality control over the data collected. The supervisor will be responsible for reviewing and processing data into simplified formats as per the guidelines provided, and will report daily on data processing activities to the MPM Programme Officer, offering relevant recommendations for improvement. Participation in the revision of data collection tools and training of enumerators is also expected, alongside ensuring proper archiving of collected data and maintenance of field equipment in line with established procedures. The role demands a commitment to IOM’s Data Protection Principles and the ability to perform additional duties as assigned by the MPM Programme Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise field staff to ensure adherence to agreed SOPs on data collection and deadlines.
Develop a monthly plan in coordination with the Field Coordinator to cover all sites within the geographical scope of work.
Conduct field visits to assess the quality of data received from field staff and submit reports to the Project Assistants and Programme Officer.
Accompany field teams during emergency missions to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry by field staff, addressing inconsistencies or issues as they arise.
Implement quality control measures and make necessary corrections to the data collected in collaboration with the Information Management (IM) team.
Review and process data into simplified forms according to instructions and guidelines.
Report daily on data processing activities to the MPM Programme Officer and provide relevant recommendations.
Participate in the revision of data collection tools and training of enumerators as needed. 1

Required Qualifications:
School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Proven experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups.
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental organizations, or government institutions in a multicultural setting is advantageous.
Background in field coordination, analysis, and reporting is essential.
Familiarity with mobile data collection technologies and GPS is considered an advantage.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a school diploma with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related disciplines from an accredited institution. A strong academic background in these areas is essential to effectively perform the duties associated with this position.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience if they hold a Bachelor’s degree, or four years of relevant experience if they possess only a school diploma. Experience should include working with vulnerable populations such as migrants and refugees, and prior involvement with international humanitarian organizations or governmental institutions is highly regarded. Familiarity with field coordination, data analysis, and reporting is also necessary for success in this role.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Turkish is mandatory for this position. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills in both languages to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders and ensure accurate data collection and reporting. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Turkey will be eligible for consideration.
