Job Overview:
The Procurement Officer position at WFP involves a critical role in managing procurement processes that support the organization's mission of providing food assistance. The officer will be responsible for consolidating and analyzing data to inform country sourcing strategies and planning specialist procurement initiatives. This role requires oversight and guidance for country offices with straightforward procurement needs, ensuring compliance with WFP policies and best practices. The officer will lead procurement projects of moderate complexity, manage operational activities, and ensure successful procurement of food and non-food commodities. The position also involves building strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, coordinating with inspection firms for quality control, and preparing timely reports on procurement activities. The Procurement Officer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to promote an integrated supply-chain approach and contribute to the overall effectiveness of WFP's operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of procurement processes. They should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage relationships with various stakeholders. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting is essential, along with a commitment to WFP's values of integrity, collaboration, and inclusion. Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in procurement or supply chain management are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field. Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts is highly desirable, as is familiarity with international procurement standards and practices. Demonstrated experience in managing procurement projects and leading teams will be considered a significant asset.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French is highly desirable given the operational context in Brazzaville. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial and will be considered an advantage in the selection process.
