Duties and Responsibilities: The Business Development Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Cultivating and strengthening strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including academic institutions, humanitarian networks, and donor communities to enhance the Centre's influence and impact.
Aligning proposal development with emerging global trends and donor priorities to ensure a competitive edge in securing funding.
Proactively identifying and securing high-impact funding opportunities that align with the Centre's mission and objectives.
Coordinating closely with internal teams and external partners to craft tailored submissions that enhance proposal success and strategic alignment.
Delivering on fundraising targets to contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Centre's programs and initiatives.
Engaging in grant writing, strategic pitching, negotiation, and partnership brokering to secure necessary resources for the Centre's operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Business Development Manager position must possess a range of qualifications, including:
A minimum of 3 years of successful experience in managing relationships with NGO, government, and corporate clients, as well as developing new business and proposal development.
High-level communication skills, particularly in grant writing, strategic or conceptual pitching, negotiation, persuasion, and partnership brokering.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Teams, and familiarity with the Adobe suite of programs.
Knowledge of international funding mechanisms, donors, and proposal requirements for institutional, UN, governmental, and philanthropic entities.
Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, with a preference for Salesforce.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate for the Business Development Manager role should have a relevant educational background that supports their ability to perform in this position. This may include a degree in business administration, international relations, humanitarian studies, or a related field.
