Job Overview: The Senior Private Sector Partnerships Individual Giving Associate plays a crucial role within UNHCR's Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP), which is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector to support refugees. This position focuses on individual giving, targeting the general public to secure donations through various channels such as direct mail, telemarketing, digital fundraising, and face-to-face fundraising. The associate will be responsible for maximizing the donor base, promoting team development, and providing effective leadership to support staff members. The role requires strategic planning, execution, and optimization of multi-channel donor acquisition programs, with a strong emphasis on data-driven approaches and donor retention strategies. The associate will collaborate with various teams to ensure alignment and integration of fundraising efforts, ultimately contributing to the growth of UNHCR's individual giving initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Private Sector Partnerships Individual Giving Associate include developing annual plans for donor acquisition and retention, managing donor servicing and communications, and supervising the implementation of fundraising campaigns. The associate will work with marketing agencies to create contact strategies and donor journeys, oversee the management of donor databases, and ensure data accuracy. They will lead the development and execution of face-to-face fundraising strategies, manage relationships with partners and suppliers, and diversify fundraising models. Additionally, the associate will oversee digital fundraising strategies, manage direct mail acquisition efforts, and develop donor retention programs. They will also be responsible for monitoring and analyzing campaign performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting emergency response readiness.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of four years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or two years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Essential qualifications include experience in private sector fundraising, client/donor communication, and marketing. Proven experience in donor retention and development programs, as well as coordination and supervision of fundraising campaigns, is also required. Familiarity with fundraising databases and software is essential, while experience in the non-profit sector, project management, and data analysis is desirable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma as a minimum, with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field being preferred. Relevant certifications in these areas are also beneficial, particularly those marked as essential.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in private sector fundraising, sales, client/donor communication, or marketing. Candidates with experience in donor retention and development programs, as well as those who have coordinated fundraising campaigns in either profit or non-profit sectors, will be prioritized. Experience with fundraising databases and software is also essential, while previous experience in the non-profit sector and project management is desirable.
Languages: The mandatory language requirement for this position is proficiency in English, with a B2 level or higher expected. Knowledge of French is considered a desirable asset, particularly for roles that may involve communication with French-speaking stakeholders or donors.
