Job Overview:
The Medical Assistant position is crucial within the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Kinshasa, DRC. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Migration Health Programme Coordinator, with technical oversight from the Regional HAP Coordinator. The role involves providing essential information related to health assessment programs and assisting in the processing of applicants and other IOM services for migrants. The Medical Assistant will be flexible and may be assigned to various subunits within the MHAC, primarily focusing on reception and data processing tasks. This position requires a proactive approach to managing data and ensuring that all processes related to health assessments are conducted efficiently and accurately.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to: receiving and explaining the registration process to applicants; verifying applicant identities; entering biodata into the appropriate platforms; taking and uploading photographs; printing medical and consent forms; receiving completed medical examination forms and documents from Country Offices or Panel Physicians; updating databases; preparing and packaging medical files for mobile health assessment missions; transmitting completed medical forms and documents to partners; ensuring accurate contact information is used for document transmission; filing incoming and outgoing correspondence; checking and photocopying bank deposit slips; and performing any other duties as assigned. The role demands attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a University Degree with at least three years of relevant working experience, or a Secondary School Diploma with at least five years of relevant experience. A certificate in IT or data entry is considered an advantage. Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in data management principles, customer care, and possess high computer literacy, particularly in Windows and MS Office. Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience in secretarial or archival roles are also beneficial. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Power BI and programming languages like SQL is advantageous, as is experience with Electronic Health Record Systems (EHRs).

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a University Degree from an accredited institution recognized by UNESCO or a Secondary School Diploma. The degree should be in a relevant field that supports the functions of the Medical Assistant role, particularly in health or administrative services. Additional certifications in IT or data entry are beneficial and may enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have experience in computer data entry, data elaboration, and analysis, preferably within a medical or busy institutional environment. A typing speed of at least 60 words per minute is required. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of customer care principles and experience working with NGOs or international organizations is considered an asset. Proven knowledge and/or certification in data analysis tools and healthcare-specific systems will be viewed favorably.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for all applicants. Knowledge of IOM's official languages, which include French and Spanish, is desirable. Proficiency in French will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. Candidates who can demonstrate proficiency in additional languages may have an advantage in the selection process.

Additional Notes:
This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be considered. The appointment is contingent upon medical fitness certification, verification of residency, visa, and government authorizations where applicable.
