Job Overview: The Workday HCM Core Consultant position is crucial for the World Food Programme's HR Technology and Analytics Branch. The consultant will act as a functional and product expert for the deployment of the Workday HCM platform, supporting the HR Division's technology strategy. The role involves advising on multiple Core HR functional work streams, facilitating design decisions, and ensuring that best practices related to Workday functionality are implemented. The consultant will work closely with project teams to drive consensus and deliver technology solutions that address global business challenges. This position requires a deep understanding of HR processes and the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions within Workday. The consultant will also mentor internal resources and manage the implementation of Workday through all lifecycle stages, ensuring that project goals are met efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for advising on Core HR processes and Workday HCM functionalities, facilitating project deliverables, and driving design decisions. Key responsibilities include:
Advising across multiple Core HR functional work streams as an expert in core HR processes and Workday HCM.
Facilitating and driving the Core HR work stream towards design decisions and configuration, recommending best practices related to Workday functionality.
Identifying strategies, risks, and options, and recommending approaches to meet Core HR functional requirements.
Architecting Workday HCM solutions to ensure cohesive work streams and mitigate cross-functional impacts.
Providing Workday functional and integration expertise to support client-side decisions and deliverables.
Delivering thought leadership and best practices to project teams and stakeholders.
Managing Workday implementation through all lifecycle stages, executing tasks as defined in the project plan.
Creating and delivering project-level documentation, tracking issues and risks, and communicating status updates.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science, Business, Human Resources, or a related field. They should have existing and up-to-date Workday HCM certification, along with a minimum of 8 years of consulting experience, preferably in a lead role with a large consulting firm. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of hands-on experience delivering Workday HCM implementations in a leadership capacity, as well as experience integrating Workday with other systems, particularly SAP. A strong understanding of HR technology, including HCM Core, Organizational Management, Authorizations, Compensation, Recruiting, and Talent & Performance, is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to delivery excellence and client relationship management.
Educational Background: A university degree in Computer Science, Business, Human Resources, or a related field is required. Candidates should also hold a current Workday HCM certification, demonstrating their expertise in the platform and its functionalities.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of consulting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on Workday HCM implementations. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing cross-functional and multi-cultural teams, as well as experience in project management with a focus on design, development, testing, and delivery of HR technology solutions.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory, along with intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) or Portuguese, which are among WFP's working languages. This bilingual capability is essential for effective communication within the diverse WFP environment.
