Job Overview:
The position of Asistente de Seguridad in Monterrey is crucial for the effective implementation of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security measures within the IOM's mission in Mexico. The role involves direct supervision by the Head of Field Office and close coordination with the Security Assistant in Tijuana. The primary expectation is to assist in strengthening the IOM's mission through the implementation of Security Risk Management (SRM) measures. The assistant will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities in IOM facilities, maintaining relationships with various security stakeholders, and ensuring the safety of personnel and operations. This position requires a proactive approach to security management, including the collection and dissemination of relevant security information, and the development of security plans and protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente de Seguridad will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in the implementation of SRM measures, identifying internal and external vulnerabilities in IOM facilities, maintaining close working relationships with the United Nations Security Department (UNDSS) and other security partners, updating emergency contact information, collecting and analyzing security information for decision-making, maintaining records of personnel and security training, conducting security briefings for staff and visitors, accompanying staff on missions, managing security incidents, and developing security plans and protocols. The role also involves regular visits to IOM offices in Mexico for security assessments and the execution of additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in International Relations, Public Security, Criminology, or related fields. Advanced studies such as a master's degree, specialization, or certifications in security will be considered an advantage. Familiarity with the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) and a clear understanding of public security structures in Mexico are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as online communication tools.

Educational Background:
A university degree in relevant fields such as International Relations, Public Security, or Criminology is required. Additional qualifications such as a master's degree or certifications in security are preferred and will enhance the candidate's profile. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience working with international organizations, the United Nations system, police agencies, military units, multilateral corporations, or private security companies. A minimum of four years of progressive experience in security-related roles is desirable, showcasing a solid background in security management and risk assessment.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish and English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of French is considered a desirable asset, enhancing communication capabilities within the diverse operational environment of IOM.
