Job Overview:
The Experienced Protection from Violence Technical Assistant position at NRC in Yola, Adamawa State, is designed for individuals who are passionate about humanitarian work and dedicated to supporting refugees and displaced persons. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Experienced Protection from Violence Technical Assistant include:
  • Adhering to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
  • Assisting in the implementation of the protection from violence portfolio according to the action plan.
  • Independently implementing protection monitoring activities as delegated.
  • Organizing and delivering tasks in accordance with established procedures and international standards.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of protection issues to effectively support the team.
  • Preparing and developing status reports as required.
  • Ensuring proper filing of documents related to protection case management.
  • Building and maintaining trust relationships with target communities.
  • Conducting community-level protection needs assessments and monitoring to document threats to safety and well-being. 1
  • Identifying and referring individuals with specific needs, focusing on vulnerable groups. 1
  • Supporting the development of awareness materials on protection issues. 1
  • Raising awareness among beneficiaries and stakeholders about available services. 1
  • Collaborating with the Case Management Officer and Protection Team for assessments and intervention plans. 1
  • Ensuring confidentiality in handling protection data and information. 1
  • Compiling information and reports on achievements and reporting to the Case Management Officer.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:
  • Experience working directly with affected communities in a humanitarian context.
  • Previous experience in complex and volatile environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with conducting community-level protection needs assessments and monitoring is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of international protection standards and principles is advantageous.
  • Strong data management skills, including the ability to gather and record information from various sources.
  • Proficiency in IT tools such as MS Office, internet, and email.
  • Some knowledge of English is required, while knowledge of local languages is beneficial.

Educational Background:
