Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Asociado(a) de Programas include providing technical support and assistance in the development and implementation of various processes and activities within the specific area of responsibility. This includes ensuring that activities are carried out efficiently and in line with established goals and WFP policies. The incumbent will supervise and monitor the work of assigned staff, providing technical guidance and continuous feedback to ensure program objectives are met and capacity development within the team. Additionally, the role involves preparing reports and data analyses related to food assistance needs, resource utilization, and program performance, ensuring compliance with institutional standards. The incumbent will also maintain communication with internal counterparts to facilitate effective collaboration and project implementation, coordinate with various internal units and implementing partners (NGOs) to ensure coherent planning and timely information exchange, and support capacity strengthening for WFP staff, partners, and national government in the specific technical area. Furthermore, the role requires adherence to emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP can respond swiftly to crises.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience contributing to program implementation. Experience working with technical teams in areas such as nutrition, vulnerability analysis, and mapping (VAM) is highly desirable. The role requires a strong understanding of program management and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Candidates should demonstrate initiative and responsibility in their work, with a proven track record of managing resources and leading teams effectively.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. Candidates should have a post-secondary education certificate in a relevant functional area. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires at least 6 years of relevant experience in program implementation. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to work with technical teams and contribute to the successful execution of programs. Experience in humanitarian contexts and familiarity with WFP's operational frameworks will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish at an advanced level (C level) is mandatory. Candidates should also have an intermediate level of English (B level), with advanced knowledge (C level) being desirable.
