Job Overview:

The intern will be assigned to the Country Office in Quito, where they will work under the supervision of Mr. Yaoshuochen Zhang. The primary expectation is to assist in various tasks related to the organization's projects, which may include research, data analysis, and administrative support. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the organization's operations and gain insights into the challenges and successes of working in a humanitarian context. This role is ideal for those who are eager to learn and contribute to impactful work in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations, conducting research on relevant topics, supporting project implementation activities, participating in meetings and taking notes, and helping with administrative tasks as needed. The intern may also be involved in outreach activities and community engagement efforts, providing support to the team in various capacities to ensure the smooth operation of projects.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges, as well as effective communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program, such as international relations, development studies, social sciences, or a related field. A background in humanitarian work or experience in a similar environment is a plus, but not mandatory.

Experience:
This internship is open to candidates with little to no prior experience in the field. However, any relevant volunteer work or internships will be considered an asset. The organization values enthusiasm and a proactive approach to learning over extensive experience.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of Spanish is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication within the local context and enhance the intern's ability to engage with community members and stakeholders.
