Job Overview:
The Research Analyst position within the Rapid Analysis Team at ACAPS is designed for individuals interested in starting a career in the humanitarian sector, particularly in qualitative and quantitative analysis. The role involves contributing to timely analyses of humanitarian crises, which enables crisis responders to make informed decisions. The analyst will engage in various analytical techniques, including secondary data review and data management, while producing briefing notes and thematic reports on emergencies. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research and analysis on global political, economic, social, and humanitarian developments related to crises. This includes delivering analysis and briefing notes on rapid onset crises within tight deadlines, coordinating with team members and external partners, and leading thematic reports. The analyst will also contribute to the development of ACAPS' methodologies for data collection and analysis, participate in internal evaluations, and establish networks with key informants to enhance the quality of analysis. Additionally, the role involves representing ACAPS in key forums and preparing presentations on specific crises or products for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a relevant Master’s degree in fields such as humanitarian action, social sciences, international relations, or public health. They should have a solid understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methods, with the ability to handle large datasets. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are essential, and proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Arabic is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a proactive approach to tasks.

Educational Background:
A relevant Master’s degree is required, preferably in humanitarian action, social sciences (such as anthropology, sociology, economics, political science, psychology, geography), area studies, international relations, public health, or epidemiology. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian crises and the methodologies used in analysis.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in research, analysis, information management, or advocacy within the humanitarian sector or related fields. This experience should demonstrate a solid understanding of emergency preparedness and response, as well as the ability to conduct needs assessments in humanitarian contexts. Previous roles should have involved building and maintaining professional networks, which is vital for the collaborative nature of this position.

Languages:
Fluency in written and oral English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish, French, or Arabic, is advantageous and will enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is a national contract with a duration from ASAP until December 2025, with the possibility of renewal. It is a full-time role with no travel requirements.
