Job Overview: The MHPSS Senior Project Associate will play a crucial role in supporting Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) project activities under the direct supervision of the Migration Health Program Officer. This position involves planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities that focus on MHPSS. The associate will compile, summarize, analyze, and present information and data on specific MHPSS project topics, highlighting noteworthy issues for consideration by relevant parties. The role requires monitoring budget implementation, proposing necessary adjustments, and acting as a focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation. The associate will also draft status reports, correspondence on project issues, and prepare various forms of documentation, including reports, briefing notes, and statistical tables. Additionally, the associate will organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions, prepare training materials, and participate in capacity-building workshops. This position demands effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders relevant to the project, as well as monitoring the work of implementing partners and MHPSS mobile teams.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the MHPSS Senior Project Associate include assisting in the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities focused on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). The associate will compile, summarize, analyze, and present information/data on specific MHPSS project topics, highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties. They will monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary, act as a focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, and liaise with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests and obtain necessary clearances. The associate will draft status reports, identify shortfalls in delivery, and suggest corrective measures. They will also draft correspondence on project issues, prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation. Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, preparing training materials, and participating in the delivery of capacity-building workshops are also key responsibilities. The associate will respond to complex information requests and inquiries, maintain files/records, and participate in meetings and conferences while maintaining effective liaison and coordination with relevant stakeholders. Monitoring the work of implementing partners and MHPSS mobile teams, reporting any non-compliance to the supervisor, and providing inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and concept papers are also part of the role. The associate may provide guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring the work of other staff in the unit and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the MHPSS Senior Project Associate position include a high school diploma with six years of relevant experience or a university degree in Social Science, Psychology, or any other related field from an accredited institution with four years of relevant professional experience. Candidates should have experience in information management, preferably in migration and conflict situations, and experience in data collection in the field. Experience with international organizations or NGOs is considered an advantage, and knowledge of border management settings is appreciated. High computer literacy in Windows and MS Office is mandatory, along with the ability to work with flexibility and integrity, independently, and with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
