Job Overview: The National Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Academy for Women in Public Leadership, which aims to enhance women's leadership across various public sectors in Moldova. This position involves programmatic coordination, logistical support, and collaboration with UN Women teams, experts, and participating institutions. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring that all Academy activities are executed smoothly and documented properly. The role requires a proactive approach to planning, organizing events, and managing participant engagement while contributing to the overall goals of gender equality and women's empowerment in Moldova. The consultant will also be involved in monitoring and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of the Academy's initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's duties include supporting the planning and coordination of the Academy, developing and updating the workplan and calendar of activities, organizing events and training sessions, providing logistical support, managing participant outreach and selection processes, and assisting in monitoring and evaluation efforts. Specific tasks involve preparing agendas, managing participant databases, coordinating schedules with experts, ensuring the timely distribution of training materials, and contributing to reports and documentation related to the Academy's activities. The consultant will also be responsible for drafting concept notes and meeting minutes, as well as performing other relevant tasks as required by UN Women.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in fields such as Political Science, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Management, or Gender Studies. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Certification or training in project/programme management or event management is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in relevant fields is required, with a first-level university degree acceptable if accompanied by additional qualifying experience. Candidates with certifications in project management or event management will have an advantage. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in gender studies, public administration, or related disciplines.
Experience: At least two years of proven experience in providing programmatic, administrative, coordination, or logistical support to programs or projects is required. Experience in organizing trainings, conferences, or workshops, including logistics and participant management, is essential. Familiarity with gender equality initiatives and experience working with international organizations, particularly the UN, will be advantageous. Proficiency in office software and web-based management systems is also required.
Languages: Fluency in Romanian and English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of Russian is considered an asset, enhancing communication capabilities within the diverse context of Moldova.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is office-based, requiring partial presence at UN Women premises for coordination purposes. The assignment is expected to last for 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 180 working days. Travel within Moldova for training and event locations is anticipated, with costs covered in accordance with UN Women regulations. The consultant will be compensated on a per-day basis, with payments contingent upon satisfactory performance and submission of deliverables.
