Job Overview:
The Programme Digitalization Transformation Advisor for social protection will play a crucial role in enhancing the digital systems that support social protection initiatives across various countries. This position is part of the Global Headquarters and will work closely with country offices to provide strategic guidance and technical support in the realm of digitalization. The advisor will be responsible for assessing government and humanitarian ecosystems, ensuring that WFP's efforts align with national and regional strategies. The role requires a deep understanding of social protection systems and the ability to implement digital solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these systems. The advisor will also be tasked with strengthening the resilience of social protection frameworks by integrating climate data and leveraging advanced analytics. Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Programme Digitalization Transformation Advisor include leading the mapping and assessment of government and humanitarian ecosystems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement digital empowerment initiatives, gathering functional requirements, designing technical architectures, and deploying community-backed open-source management information systems (MIS). The advisor will also work on integrating climate hazard data into social protection systems, contributing to the development of corporate guidance and tools, and supporting country offices in their strategic positioning regarding digitalization. Additionally, the advisor will lead internal coordination efforts, improve knowledge management globally, provide technical support for the implementation of social protection programs, and assist in capacity building for WFP staff and partners. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in social protection digitalization.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, or Computer Science. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in IT/technology, data management, or analytics is required, with at least three years of international experience. Additionally, candidates should have at least three years of professional experience specifically in social protection related IT/technology and data management. Experience working with government on technological solutions is highly desirable, as is familiarity with WFP operations in regions such as Ethiopia, Somalia, Uganda, Sudan, or Malawi. Strong analytical skills, the ability to develop effective work relationships, and excellent communication skills in English are essential. Proficiency in French is considered an advantage.

The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Economics, Business, or Computer Science.
