Job Overview:
The Program Development and Reporting Manager (PDRM) plays a crucial role in leading proposal development efforts and ensuring program quality for Mercy Corps' Guatemala program and its expanding portfolio in Central America. This position involves coordinating inputs from various staff members, maintaining relationships with donors and partners, and supporting the country team's advocacy and communication agendas. The PDRM is responsible for developing high-quality proposal narratives, managing grant proposal processes, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The role requires collaboration with regional and global teams to align programming goals with donor priorities and to facilitate training and learning opportunities for country team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The PDRM's duties include interfacing with regional and global teams to stay updated on donor priorities, leading grant proposal kick-off meetings, drafting high-quality concept notes and proposals, coordinating funding opportunities, and facilitating Design" id="link" class="link">Program Design discussions. The Manager will also maintain a tracker for all grants, contribute to donor report development, ensure compliance with donor policies, and maintain an online grant filing system. Additionally, the PDRM will socialize tools and promote adherence to them, maintain close partnerships with country team members, and ensure programs align with donor agreements and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong proposal development skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a deep understanding of donor requirements and compliance. The ideal candidate should have experience in Program Management, Business Development, and partnership building. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams are essential. Familiarity with the Central American context and humanitarian needs is highly desirable.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in international development, public Administration, business administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be beneficial for candidates seeking to advance in this role.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in program development, proposal writing, and Donor Relations, preferably within the humanitarian or development sectors. Experience working in Central America or similar contexts is a plus, as is familiarity with the challenges faced by vulnerable populations in the region.
Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and partners. Proficiency in English is also required for reporting and Coordination with global teams. Additional languages relevant to the region are considered a plus.

This position is full-time and may involve travel within Central America.
