Job Overview:
The position of National Consultant for Capacity Building Training on School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) involves designing and implementing a comprehensive training program aimed at enhancing the understanding of SRGBV among teachers and teacher educators in Pakistan Administered Kashmir. The consultant will be responsible for developing a capacity building training manual that addresses the definition, causes, impacts of SRGBV, and strategies for creating safe and inclusive school environments. The training will focus on equipping participants with practical skills to recognize and address SRGBV, thereby fostering a safer educational environment for students. The consultant will also be tasked with delivering the training in a participatory format, ensuring active engagement from all participants, and evaluating the effectiveness of the training through assessments and feedback.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive capacity building training manual in English on reducing SRGBV, incorporating both theoretical and practical components.
- Design interactive sessions that engage participants and encourage the application of knowledge in real-world scenarios.
- Prepare capacity building materials, including presentations, handouts, and case studies.
- Create a detailed daily planner for the four-day capacity building workshop, specifying the content, session learning objectives, and required resources.
- Organize and supervise the delivery of the capacity building training in a participatory workshop format.
- Conduct a four-day capacity building training for 35 teachers and teacher educators.
- Utilize participatory methodologies to ensure the active involvement and engagement of participants.
- Develop pre-and post-training assessments to measure the effectiveness of the training.
- Gather feedback from participants to inform future capacity building workshops. 1
- Prepare a detailed report summarizing the outcomes of the training, challenges encountered, and recommendations for further action. 1
- Facilitate the development of an action plan for district-based capacity building training programmes.
Required Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in education, gender studies, or a related field is mandatory.
- Five years of experience in designing and delivering capacity building training for teachers and educators focusing on gender equality and addressing gender-based violence.
- Strong understanding of School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) and gender issues in Pakistan.
- Exceptional facilitation skills with the ability to effectively engage and communicate with diverse groups of participants.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Good knowledge and understanding of government functioning.
- Ability to take initiative and establish priorities, with capacity to work efficiently under pressure.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural workplace and able to work in a team to achieve shared objectives. 1
- Strong understanding of the educational landscape in Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK)/Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Educational Background:
A master’s degree in education, gender studies, or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and understanding of the complexities surrounding gender issues and educational practices, particularly in the context of Pakistan.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of experience in designing and delivering capacity building training for teachers and educators. This experience should focus on gender equality and addressing gender-based violence, with a particular emphasis on creating safer and more inclusive educational environments. The consultant should have a strong understanding of School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) and gender issues in Pakistan, as well as exceptional facilitation skills to effectively engage diverse groups of participants.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Urdu is required for this position. Proficiency in any other local languages spoken in the area would be considered an added advantage, as it would facilitate better communication and understanding with the participants during the training sessions.

The contract type is an Individual Consultant Contract, with a standard duration of 20 working days within a period of 3 months, effective from mid-January 202
