Job Overview:
The Area Programme Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of integrated programs in Ecuador, ensuring compliance with NRC policies and donor standards. This role involves line management of project managers and coordinators, providing Technical Support, and representing NRC in Coordination forums. The Area Manager will also be tasked with identifying funding opportunities and developing strategies to secure Financial Resources for the organization's programs. The position requires a strong understanding of the humanitarian context in Ecuador, particularly regarding the challenges faced by refugees and migrants, and the ability to adapt strategies to meet these needs effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide line management for CC project managers, coordinators, and team leaders, ensuring effective implementation of NRC programs in Ecuador.
- Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidance, and procedures across all programs.
- Oversee program support for integrated programming, ensuring technical quality and coordination within the area office.
- Contribute area-specific insights to the development of CC strategies.
- Ensure adherence to donor standards, manage grants, and provide regular reporting to donors.
- Identify funding opportunities and develop strategies for securing financial resources.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders and partners to enhance program effectiveness and reach.
- Monitor and evaluate Program Implementation, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
- Facilitate Capacity Building for local staff and partners to enhance program delivery. 1
- Represent NRC in relevant coordination meetings and forums, advocating for the needs of refugees and migrants.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of management experience in a humanitarian or recovery context.
- Proven experience working in complex and volatile environments.
- Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position.
- Strong leadership skills and self-awareness regarding personal leadership style.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Ecuador, including the challenges faced by refugees and migrants.
- Experience managing programs in insecure environments.
- Expertise in NRC Core Competencies and relevant sectors. 1
- Familiarity with grant management processes and Donor Relations.
Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as Project Development and Management is required. A Master's degree is considered an added advantage, particularly for candidates seeking to enhance their qualifications for this role.
Experience:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 4 years of relevant management experience, particularly in humanitarian or recovery contexts. Experience in complex and volatile environments is essential, as is a track record of successful Program Management and implementation.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory, with both written and verbal proficiency required for effective communication in this role. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the populations served by NRC in Ecuador.
