Job Overview:
The Logistics Support position at WFP is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Logistics Support position include:

• Providing support to logistics operations and activities, ensuring effective delivery of food assistance.
• Supporting the timely ordering and delivery of commodities and supplies to authorized partners.
• Managing logistics vendors’ contracting activities, including performance monitoring.
• Responding to technical queries and requests for support, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
• Contributing to budget preparation, monitoring, and revision for all delivery modalities.
• Assisting in monitoring inventory management processes to track trends and account for inventory status.
• Supporting commodity accounting data quality and integrity.
• Conducting operational pipeline analyses and assessments for all delivery modalities.
• Processing documentation for logistics operations, including customs clearance and invoice verification. 1
• Collecting and compiling data to produce reports and ensure information accuracy in corporate systems. 1
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support efficient logistics operations management. 1
• Providing guidance to other support staff to assist them in completing standard tasks to agreed standards and deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Logistics Support position include:

• Completion of secondary school education or a university degree (Diploma/Bachelor) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Social Sciences, International Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience with a secondary school certificate or a minimum of two years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain with a university degree.
• Experience using corporate systems to monitor shipments, pipeline information, and food stock.
• Proficiency in analyzing data and drafting reports.
• Experience in measuring service providers’ performance against KPIs and assisting in contract documentation preparation.
• Demonstrated experience in transport planning and coordination with stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes either the completion of secondary school education or a university degree (Diploma/Bachelor) in relevant fields such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Social Sciences, International Development, or Business Administration. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics operations and supply chain management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience for candidates with a secondary school certificate or at least 2 years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain for those with a university degree. This experience should include practical knowledge of logistics operations, vendor management, and data analysis, as well as familiarity with corporate systems used in logistics management.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Somali languages is mandatory for this position, with a proficiency level of C in both languages. This requirement ensures effective communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries in the region. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
