Job Overview:
The Warehouse Assistant position is crucial for ensuring the efficient management of supply chain operations within the WHO framework. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Assistant will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to: monitoring ongoing shipments and pipeline information, initiating the clearance process for international shipments, evaluating the quality and safety of received goods, managing local procurement processes, generating purchase orders, overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage and data entry, arranging timely deliveries to local partners, maintaining regular contact with clearing agents and customs, and providing regular reports on shipment progress. The role requires a strong focus on compliance with WHO guidelines and effective communication with various stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid driving license and have completed secondary education, supplemented by training in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement. A university degree in business administration or a related field is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate sound organizational skills, stress and time management abilities, and a good understanding of WHO systems and procedures. Additionally, candidates should exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills, as well as the ability to produce results in a changing environment.
Educational Background:
The essential educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. Candidates with additional training in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement will be preferred. A university degree in a relevant field is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.
Experience:
The position requires at least eight years of relevant experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement. Candidates with experience in the UN system or similar international organizations will be given preference. The role demands a proven track record of managing logistics operations and ensuring compliance with organizational guidelines.
Languages:
Essential language skills include intermediate knowledge of English and expert knowledge of Arabic. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory for this position.
Additional Notes:
This position offers an annual net base salary starting at USD 26,452, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. The role includes 30 days of annual leave.
