Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that provides emergency aid to individuals affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion, and natural disasters. Founded in 1971, MSF operates in over 70 countries and has 27 Institutional Members, including 24 sections and various branch offices and satellites. The organization is dedicated to delivering assistance based solely on need, without regard to race, religion, gender, or political affiliation. MSF International serves as the legal entity that unites these members, providing coordination, information, and support to the MSF movement, as well as implementing international projects and initiatives as required. The International Office (IO) acts as the Secretariat for the MSF International Board and is managed directly by the International Secretary General, also offering administrative support to the MSF Access to Product Healthcare (APH).

Job Overview:
The Business Analyst SPINCO position is integral to the SPINCO team, which focuses on enhancing collaboration across the MSF movement by providing a reliable source of product information that facilitates continuous process improvements. The Business Analyst will be responsible for coordinating activities related to the enhancement of SPINCO Solutions or Projects. This role involves analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to boost efficiency, productivity, and interoperability. The central solution managed by the Business Analyst is UniData, MSF's comprehensive supply article database that catalogs all items available for field operations and tracks article changes within the organization. The Business Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, primarily represented by the Product Owner, to ensure that identified improvements are documented, communicated to developers, and successfully implemented in software releases.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Business Analyst will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: identifying improvements and problems in collaboration with the Product Owner and SPINCO team; engaging with the Product Owner and relevant stakeholders to understand their business needs and clarify improvement requests; proposing and designing process and technical solutions that align with business requirements; discussing technical feasibility with developers; managing Scrum or Kanban boards and backlogs; participating in daily or weekly standup meetings, scrum meetings, and other related activities; acting as scrum master during sprint cycles; defining detailed test plans for functional and regression testing, and conducting tests prior to release; contributing to Release Notes and documentation; following up with the Product Owner post-release; providing assistance to end users; delivering support materials such as e-learning and knowledge base articles; leading data cleansing initiatives; and configuring web analytics to gain insights into user interactions and engagement with existing and future SPINCO solutions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to identify and solve complex problems. They should have experience in business analysis, particularly in a technical environment, and be familiar with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role requires collaboration with various stakeholders. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in project management tools and techniques, as well as a solid understanding of data management and analytics.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field is required. A master's degree or additional certifications in business analysis or project management would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, preferably within a humanitarian or non-profit organization. Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with product management processes are highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly French or Spanish, is considered a strong asset and will enhance a candidate's application.

The position is a full-time contract for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. The starting date is set for August 202
  • The compensation and benefits package will align with the MSF entity where the contract is established. The successful candidate will typically be offered a contract in the MSF office located in their country of residence at the time of application.
