Job Overview:
The ICT Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and secure operation of NRC's information systems. This position involves providing ongoing technical, administrative, and support assistance to NRC's offices in the northeastern region of Colombia. The assistant will be responsible for implementing ICT support functions according to the action plan, preparing status reports for ICT management, and ensuring proper documentation and filing. The role also includes promoting ideas to enhance support functions, assisting in ICT project implementations, and maintaining ICT equipment in line with NRC's global software standards. Training NRC staff on the effective use of ICT tools is also a key responsibility, along with managing software licenses and resolving incidents reported through the help desk system.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ICT Technical Assistant will have a range of general and specific responsibilities. General responsibilities include ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines, supporting the implementation of the support function portfolio, preparing required reports, and promoting ideas for strengthening support functions. Specific responsibilities involve assigning and tracking the resolution of help desk cases, providing first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, and managing ICT infrastructure tasks such as connectivity management, antivirus systems, and software installations. The assistant will also be responsible for managing network incidents, ensuring proper use of software licenses, and supporting the automation of processes and system development in Power Apps and Power Automate. Additional tasks may be assigned by supervision related to ICT operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of work experience in support functions within humanitarian contexts. Previous experience in complex and changing environments is essential, along with demonstrable knowledge related to the responsibilities of the position. Basic knowledge of the English language is required. Candidates should also have a technical, technological, or professional degree in systems engineering, computer science, or related fields. Advanced proficiency in Office365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) is necessary, as well as knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, Windows 10/11, antivirus systems, and help desk request management. Previous experience with relevant software is highly valued.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to have a technical, technological, or professional degree in systems engineering, computer science, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary technical skills and knowledge to perform the duties of the ICT Technical Assistant effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least one year of relevant work experience in support functions, particularly in humanitarian contexts. This experience should demonstrate the ability to work effectively in complex and dynamic environments, as well as familiarity with the responsibilities associated with the position. Previous experience with ICT systems and support is highly desirable.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with the local community. Basic knowledge of English is also required, as it may be necessary for understanding documentation and communication with international teams. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The contract will be established as a labor contract for a specific project, in accordance with Colombian labor legislation. The payment will be made monthly based on NRC's salary scale, which ranges from $2,700,000 to $2,900,000, depending on the specific grade of the vacancy.
