The Moroccan Red Crescent (Croissant-Rouge marocain) was established by royal decree in 1957 and is a voluntary relief association that acts as an auxiliary to civil and military authorities. It has a network of 8,565 volunteers across the country. The organization supports state bodies while maintaining its neutrality and independence, adhering to the principles and values of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Currently, the Moroccan Red Crescent is implementing a two-year response and recovery plan to assist those affected by the Marrakech-Safi earthquake that occurred in September 202
  • This plan includes aspects of relief such as the distribution of essential goods, shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene, community health, first aid, psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support, and disaster risk reduction through community-based and participatory approaches. Activities are implemented with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the German, Spanish, and French Red Cross.

Job Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to support the implementation of shelter activities through rigorous data management, which includes data collection, verification, archiving, and reporting. This role is crucial for ensuring effective tracking of beneficiaries and shelter interventions. The individual in this position will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date databases of beneficiaries, preparing monitoring reports, and coordinating with technical teams to geolocate interventions. The role also involves training and assisting volunteers involved in data collection and entry, ensuring that all activities align with the objectives of the Moroccan Red Crescent and adhere to the principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include supporting the digital collection of beneficiary household data using tools such as KoboCollect, verifying the quality of collected data to ensure consistency with eligibility criteria (damage level, housing, land, property, vulnerability), maintaining up-to-date beneficiary databases (tracking MoUs, payments, completion certificates, before/after photos), preparing monitoring reports, simple dashboards, or data extractions as requested by the shelter team, coordinating with the technical team to geolocate interventions and avoid duplicates, participating in the entry, verification, and filing of supporting documents (copies of ID cards, certificates, photos), contributing to the training and assistance of volunteers involved in data collection or entry, and participating in planning or review meetings regarding shelter interventions with local teams and partners. Additionally, the individual is expected to actively work towards achieving the objectives of the Moroccan Red Crescent and respect the principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, performing any other tasks and responsibilities related to the job as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include a university degree in information management, statistics, computer science, engineering, or any other relevant field, with prior experience preferred with the Moroccan Red Crescent or community development organizations in Morocco. Candidates should possess strong internet and Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, as well as team management, planning, and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple activities simultaneously is also essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a university degree in a relevant field such as information management, statistics, computer science, or engineering. A background in humanitarian projects or community development is preferred, particularly experience with the Moroccan Red Crescent.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience (or volunteering/internship) in humanitarian projects or data management is required. Preferred experience includes supervision of construction sites, monitoring of shelter activities, distributions, or cash programs, and coordination with local authorities and communities.

Languages:
Fluency in Moroccan Arabic, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Proficiency in English, French, and Tamazight is preferred, enhancing communication capabilities within diverse teams and communities.

Additional Notes:
The salary for this position is 8,000 MAD per month (gross), and the contract duration is six months with the possibility of renewal.
