Job Overview:
The Field Office Coordinator position at UNFPA in Diffa is a critical role that involves overseeing humanitarian interventions and ensuring the integration of humanitarian issues into the country program and annual work plans. The coordinator will work closely with program officers and the operations team to manage project implementation, develop funding proposals, and maintain strong relationships with local partners. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for humanitarian interventions and ensuring that the UNFPA's strategic objectives are met, particularly in the humanitarian sector. The coordinator will also be responsible for capacity building among implementing partners and ensuring efficient resource management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Office Coordinator will be responsible for scanning the environment for programming opportunities, contributing to the analysis of socio-demographic, health, environmental, political, and economic factors relevant to humanitarian emergencies. They will represent UNFPA in discussions with government partners, UN agencies, and civil society organizations to ensure that UNFPA's priorities are included in local interventions. The coordinator will also support the development and implementation of humanitarian responses, assist in drafting plans for the distribution of goods, and oversee the management of resources. Additionally, they will be responsible for reporting on project implementation, documenting best practices, and contributing to resource mobilization efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in health, international relations, demography, social sciences, or program management. They should have at least five years of experience in managing activities in emergency situations, with a strong background in reproductive health, gender-based violence, and program monitoring and evaluation. Knowledge of minimum emergency health standards and crisis management processes is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, physical stamina for fieldwork, and proficiency in computer applications such as spreadsheets and word processing software.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in a relevant field such as health, international relations, demography, social sciences, or program management is required for this position. This educational background ensures that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage humanitarian interventions and contribute to the UNFPA's mission.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of professional experience in managing activities in emergency situations. This experience should include work in reproductive health, gender-based violence, and the formulation of policies and programs. Familiarity with humanitarian response mechanisms and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including NGOs and UN agencies, is crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in French (both oral and written) is mandatory, along with a good command of English (oral and written). Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with partners and stakeholders in the field.
