The Vice President of Development is a pivotal role within the American Heart Association, specifically focused on leading and managing fundraising efforts in the Miami market. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Development will be responsible for a variety of key duties, including: collaborating with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Executive Director, VP of Health, and Marketing & Communications Director to create and implement strategies that enhance donor relationships; leading and managing a team of two direct reports, ensuring accountability and support for ambitious fundraising goals; overseeing development and fundraising campaigns, guiding staff teams to achieve significant revenue targets; positioning the Miami market for growth in campaign revenue by coaching fundraising staff; identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and engaging medical and non-medical volunteer partners; cultivating and managing a network of volunteer partnerships to advance the organization's mission; and providing resources and direction to achieve campaign goals.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, along with at least three years of relevant experience in a development role within a non-profit organization. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in staff management, preferably within development or fundraising contexts. Experience in leading and cultivating relationships with high-level leaders at the C-suite level is preferred, as is direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, and candidates must have the ability to travel within the Miami area and access reliable transportation.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, although equivalent work experience may be considered. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training relevant to fundraising, non-profit management, or a related field that supports the responsibilities of the role.
Experience:
