Job Overview:
The Development Director, School Engagement is a full-time, field-based position that requires extensive travel across Fairfax and Loudon, Virginia, as well as the Greater D.C. area. This role is pivotal in engaging K-12 students through initiatives like the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge, promoting physical activity and health education. The position demands flexibility in working hours, including early mornings and evenings, to accommodate school schedules and events. Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Development Director include meeting a fundraising goal of $375,000 through effective volunteer recruitment and engagement, customer service, and account management. Key duties involve recruiting and engaging students through schools and districts, implementing strategies for classroom challenges and assemblies, developing relationships with educators and administrators, maintaining high standards of customer service, and managing account information within CRM databases. The role requires high-volume account management, often working with 5-10 schools daily, and necessitates both in-person and virtual interactions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields. A university or college degree or equivalent experience is required. The ability to travel locally and access reliable transportation is essential.
