Job Overview:
The Administrative/ICT Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day administrative and ICT activities of Catholic Relief Services (CRS). This position is designed to ensure that the organization operates effectively and efficiently, providing high-quality service to support its mission of serving the poor and vulnerable. The assistant will be responsible for facilitating communication within the organization and with external stakeholders, managing administrative transactions, and providing logistical support for travel and events. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities related to ICT, such as software installation, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, time management abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the overall operational effectiveness of CRS.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Administrative/ICT Assistant include: facilitating communication with all units of the organization and external stakeholders; managing incoming and outgoing mail and documents; providing specialized administrative support such as translating, typing, proofreading, and formatting documents; preparing transactional documents for general operations; compiling data and performing data entry related to administration processes; supporting travel and logistics arrangements for staff and visitors; scheduling appointments; providing logistical support for event planning; implementing property management processes; preparing utility reports; aiding in the installation and configuration of software applications; performing routine maintenance on computers and hardware; troubleshooting system faults and escalating issues as necessary; maintaining ICT inventory; setting up new PCs; monitoring network performance; and carrying out other ICT-related functions as instructed by the ICT manager.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Higher National Diploma, BSc, or BA, with a professional diploma or certificate in Administration or ICT preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience working in an office environment in a clerical or administrative role. Experience with local or international NGOs is a plus, and additional education may substitute for some experience. Proficiency in typing, data entry, and the use of various office equipment is essential, along with experience in the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma, BSc, or BA. A professional diploma or certificate in Administration or ICT is preferred, indicating a solid educational foundation relevant to the responsibilities of the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least two years of experience working in an office environment, specifically in a clerical or administrative capacity. Experience with local or international NGOs is advantageous, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational context in which CRS operates. Additional education may be considered as a substitute for some of the required experience, allowing for flexibility in candidate selection.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with Hausa being a preferred language. Proficiency in both languages will enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and facilitate effective service delivery.

The position is based in Yobe State, Nigeria, and requires the candidate to be willing and able to travel up to 25%. The role is full-time, and candidates are expected to adhere to CRS's Code of Conduct and commitment to safeguarding program participants and community members from exploitation and abuse. The successful candidate will undergo a pre-employment medical clearance and must meet the work permit eligibility requirements of the country.
