Job Overview:
The position of Development Worker involves advising and supporting LGBTIQ+ self-led interest groups and organizations to strengthen their organizational structures and processes through the integration of a human rights-based approach. The role is part of the project aimed at promoting the human rights of vulnerable groups, particularly focusing on civil society organizations. The Development Worker will be responsible for capacity development in areas relevant to organizational development, including strategic and operational planning, project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and evidence-based advocacy. The position also entails providing guidance on developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with key donors and training LGBTIQ+ organizations to enhance their advocacy capacities. The Development Worker will support movement building, conflict resolution, and good partnership practices while advising project partners on LGBTIQ+ rights and inclusion as per GIZ's gender strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Worker will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities including: advising and supporting LGBTIQ+ self-led interest groups and organizations; enhancing their organizational structures and processes; integrating the human rights-based approach into their operations; supporting capacity development in strategic and operational planning; assisting in project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation; providing guidance on evidence-based advocacy; developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with key donors; training LGBTIQ+ organizations for effective advocacy at various levels; supporting movement building and conflict resolution; and advising project partners on LGBTIQ+ rights and inclusion as outlined in GIZ's gender strategy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in law, human rights, gender studies, social sciences, or a related field. They should have several years of work experience, particularly in development cooperation, human rights, and/or civil society organizations. Proven expertise in Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire confidence in others. Strong teamwork, networking, facilitation, cooperation, and intercultural understanding skills are also required.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as law, human rights, gender studies, or social sciences is mandatory for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of human rights and the specific needs of LGBTIQ+ communities.

Experience:
Candidates should have several years of relevant work experience, particularly in areas related to development cooperation, human rights advocacy, and civil society organizations. This experience is vital for effectively advising and supporting LGBTIQ+ self-led interest groups and organizations.

Languages:
Business fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the local context or the communities served by the project.
