Job Overview: The LogisticsAnalyst position is critical in ensuring the efficient delivery of essential commodities and services to populations affected by emergencies, particularly in the context of humanitarian responses. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Supplies Logistics Team Lead and collaborate closely with the International Operations Manager, Procurement Analyst, and the UNFPA Myanmar Supply Chain committee. The role involves overseeing logistics operations, managing supply chains, and ensuring compliance with UNFPA standards. The Logistics Analyst will play a vital role in supporting the organization's mission to provide timely and effective assistance to those in need, particularly in response to emergencies such as the recent earthquake in Myanmar. The position requires a commitment to high-quality results and the ability to work in challenging environments, demonstrating integrity and professionalism throughout all operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Overseeing pre-shipment coordination for warehousing and ports, ensuring all necessary documentation and authorizations are in place for shipments.
Preparing and signing documentation for shipments, including Receiving and Inspection Reports, and maintaining accurate records for compliance.
Managing transportation logistics, coordinating customs clearance, and ensuring safe handling of goods throughout the transportation process.
Collaborating with implementing partners to support distribution plans for affected regions, monitoring the distribution process to ensure compliance with UNFPA standards.
Managing warehouse stocks, tracking inventory movement, and maintaining documentation of recipients.
Conducting regular monitoring visits to partner facilities to ensure proper storage and distribution of supplies, particularly for temperature-sensitive items.
Preparing detailed logistics and procurement reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy in reporting.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications, including:
An advanced university degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or related fields, or a first university degree with additional relevant work experience.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with an advanced degree or 4 years with a bachelor's degree.
A good understanding of international development and humanitarian architecture, particularly the UN system.
Experience in emergency response in humanitarian settings.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or other related fields. Alternatively, a first university degree combined with additional years of relevant work experience is acceptable. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics and supply chain management in humanitarian contexts.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience if they hold an advanced degree, or at least 4 years of relevant work experience if they possess a bachelor's degree. This experience should ideally be in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields, with a strong emphasis on emergency response and humanitarian operations.
Languages: Fluency in both oral and written English and the Myanmar language is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and partners in the region.
