Job Overview:
The National Consultant as Programme Analyst for GBV and SRHR plays a crucial role in managing UNFPA's activities related to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender-based violence (GBV). This position involves analyzing and coordinating the implementation of interventions aimed at safeguarding access to essential services for women and girls, particularly in the context of humanitarian crises such as the recent earthquake in Myanmar. Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to transformative impact. Successful candidates will be resourceful, accountable, and dedicated to delivering high-quality results in humanitarian settings. A good understanding of international development and humanitarian architecture, including the UN system, is essential. Experience in emergency response in humanitarian settings is highly valued, along with proficiency in current office software applications (MS Word, Excel, etc.). UN experience will be considered an asset.
Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in public health, social sciences, gender studies, or related fields is required. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience may be considered. Candidates should possess a strong academic background that supports their ability to analyze and address complex issues related to SRHR and GBV.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required for candidates with an advanced degree, or a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience for those with a bachelor's degree. Candidates should have experience working in humanitarian settings and be able to demonstrate their ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in program management and coordination is essential.
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory, along with proficiency in the Myanmar language. This bilingual capability is crucial for effective communication with local stakeholders and partners, ensuring that the consultant can engage with the community and facilitate the implementation of programs effectively.
Additional Notes:
The consultant is expected to work full-time for a duration of 6 months starting from the contract date. The position is based in Mandalay, Myanmar, and involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including local partners and civil society organizations. - Coordination and Partnership: Collaborate with partners and other stakeholders to strengthen multi-sectoral responses to GBV and SRHR challenges. Represent UNFPA in relevant coordination forums.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for GBV/MHPSS and SRHR programs. Collect and analyze data to inform program adjustments and policy recommendations.
- Advocacy and Knowledge Management: Support advocacy efforts to promote GBV prevention and SRH rights. Contribute to the documentation and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned.
