The United Nations Development Coordination Office (DCO) is a key entity within the United Nations system, established to enhance the effectiveness of the UN's development coordination efforts. Job Overview:
The Associate Digital Communications Consultant position is integral to the Communications and Results Reporting Section (CRRS) of the DCO. The role focuses on enhancing the UNCT web platform, optimizing global websites for the UNSDG and DCO, and building digital assets that support DCO 2.0 initiatives. The consultant will be responsible for providing technical support, ensuring compliance with UN standards, and leveraging data insights to improve user engagement and website performance. This position requires a proactive approach to digital communications, with an emphasis on storytelling, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will undertake several key tasks, including: 1) Upgrading the UNCT Web Platform by providing first-level technical support to website managers, coordinating with stakeholders for content updates, performing quality assurance, and monitoring website performance indicators. 2) Enhancing the UNSDG and DCO Global Websites by developing and maintaining content, ensuring editorial quality, and applying best practices in SEO and data visualization. 3) Building Digital Assets for DCO 2.0 by producing and disseminating digital content, assisting in content production strategies, tracking engagement metrics, and supporting digital communities of practice. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of digital communications and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing, computer science, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two years of additional relevant experience may be accepted. A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, digital marketing, or web development is required. Experience with multilingual websites using Drupal or comparable CMS, drafting content for websites and social media, and performing quality assurance reviews is essential. Familiarity with Google Analytics and data visualization tools is desirable, as is experience with online collaboration platforms.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in a relevant field is required for this position. Candidates with a first-level university degree may be considered if they have additional relevant experience. The educational background should ideally include studies in communication, digital marketing, or related disciplines that equip the candidate with the necessary skills for effective digital communication and content management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in public information, journalism, international relations, digital marketing, or web development. Candidates with a bachelor's degree must have at least four years of progressively responsible experience. Experience working with technical developers and content creators to deploy multilingual websites is crucial, as is experience in drafting professional content for digital platforms. Familiarity with quality assurance processes and monitoring website performance is also important.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian, is considered an advantage and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Additional Notes:
The expected duration of this position is eight months, from May 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension depending on funding availability. The position is home-based, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements.
