Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst for Sexual and Reproductive Health of Adolescents and Youth / HIV/AIDS provides technical expertise for the development and implementation of strategies, enhancing skills related to sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. This role involves analyzing and evaluating relevant political, demographic, social, and economic trends, contributing significantly to the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of projects, joint programming initiatives, and related national development frameworks. The analyst guides and facilitates the defined services in UNFPA programs, ensuring the achievement of prescribed results while ensuring the appropriate application of applicable systems and procedures, and developing improvements as necessary. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including government partners, NGOs, and UN agencies, to ensure effective program implementation and communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst will be responsible for several key functions: 1) Contributing to the design and formulation of programs and projects related to adolescent sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS; 2) Managing the implementation of projects, strategies, and activities within the portfolio; 3) Developing and strengthening partnerships for effective program execution; 4) Enhancing the capacity of implementing partners in sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS management; 5) Promoting effective communication regarding programs and with partners; 6) Ensuring efficient resource management and safeguarding of assets. Specific tasks include scanning the environment for programming, analyzing socio-demographic, health, political, and economic factors relevant to adolescent health, and contributing to the development of the Country Program. The analyst will also oversee the operationalization of strategies, provide technical assistance, and ensure compliance with budgets and reporting requirements. Additionally, the role involves documenting best practices, mobilizing resources, and contributing to advocacy efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, or Program Management in health or a related social science field. They should have at least two years of relevant work experience in development program administration and project management, particularly in public health and adolescent sexual and reproductive health programs. Experience in managing cases of gender-based violence, multisectoral services, and referrals is preferred. Familiarity with UN agencies or international organizations is an asset. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in developing training curricula and materials, analyzing data for humanitarian operations, and possess excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Access, and database software.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, or Program Management in health or a related social science field is required. This educational background should provide a solid foundation in health principles, program management, and the social determinants of health, particularly as they relate to adolescents and youth.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant professional experience in development program administration and project management, with a focus on public health and adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Candidates should have experience in managing programs related to comprehensive sexual education and community strategies for promoting adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Experience in gender-based violence case management and multisectoral services is also desirable. Familiarity with UN agencies or international organizations will be considered an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in French (oral and written) is mandatory, along with a good command of English (oral and written). This bilingual proficiency is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the international context of the UNFPA's work.
