Job Overview:
The National Program Director Inclusion & Impact will play a pivotal role in driving health equity and inclusion initiatives within the American Heart Association. This position is designed for a passionate individual who will serve as a subject matter expert in health equity and inclusion, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the organization's mission impact. The Director will manage the implementation and evaluation of inclusion programs, ensuring they align with the AHA's goals. This role requires a strategic thinker who can cultivate relationships both internally and externally, focusing on organizational growth and health equity. The position is home-based, allowing for flexibility while contributing to the AHA's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The National Program Director will be responsible for several key functions, including: driving health equity strategies by creating and managing programs that embed equity into existing and new organizational initiatives; cultivating partnerships that enhance revenue generation and health equity impact; leading the development and evaluation of strategies that support the AHA's commitment to evolving its culture; managing employee resource groups and mentorship programs; ensuring alignment of programs with the AHA's mission and values; and performing other duties as assigned. The Director will also be tasked with reporting on mission impact and learning outcomes, showcasing the effectiveness of health equity initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in public health, non-profit management, or a related field from an accredited institution. A minimum of eight years of experience in project or program development and management within non-profit, public health, or community programs is required. Applicants should have a strong understanding of social determinants of health and the ability to engage with diverse socio-economic groups. Strategic thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in fundraising and relationship management are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also necessary, along with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public health, non-profit management, or a related discipline from an accredited university. This foundational education is crucial for understanding the complexities of health equity and inclusion within the context of public health and community engagement.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least eight years of relevant experience in project or program development and management, particularly within the non-profit sector. Experience in public health, health equity, and community programs is essential, as is a demonstrated ability to lead and manage large-scale initiatives effectively. Candidates should also have a proven track record of working in fast-paced environments and meeting deadlines while managing multiple priorities.

Languages:
While proficiency in English is mandatory, candidates with bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are preferred. This language capability will enhance communication with diverse communities and stakeholders, furthering the AHA's mission of inclusivity and health equity.
