Job Overview:
The ICT Technical Assistant position is designed to provide daily technical support for users in the Kosti Country office of NRC Sudan. Under the supervision of the ICT Coordinator, the assistant will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of information systems and telecommunications services to all staff members. This role involves adhering to NRC policies and guidelines, preparing status reports, maintaining proper documentation, and providing help desk support for IT-related issues. The assistant will also be tasked with maintaining the Asset Registry for ICT and Non-ICT equipment, preparing and releasing ICT resources to authorized users, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, and setting up internet connectivity for staff and visitors. The position requires a proactive approach to support office staff in using various systems and applications, as well as scheduling regular maintenance for computer-related services.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or Software Engineering. Candidates should have a solid educational foundation that equips them with the necessary skills to perform technical support and maintenance tasks effectively.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in IT functions, with documented results related to the responsibilities of the position. Previous experience in networking and software and hardware maintenance is essential for success in this role.
Languages:
The mandatory languages for this position are Arabic and English. Proficiency in both languages is required to effectively communicate and provide support to a diverse group of users.

- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
- Ensure proper filing of documents related to ICT operations.
- Offer help desk support to all users on IT issues.
- Maintain the existing Asset Registry to track all ICT and Non-ICT equipment.
- Prepare and release ICT resources to authorized users as approved.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, or connectivity problems.
- Support office staff in the use of systems and applications upon request. 1
- Schedule regular computer-related service and maintenance. 1
- Set up internet connectivity for all staff and visitors. 1
- Perform other duties as required or requested by the line manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in IT functions.
- Experience in networking, software, and hardware maintenance.
- Proven ability to provide user support for typical office ICT, especially LAN/WAN/VSAT/Wireless technologies, Cisco switches, and routers.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to keep up to date with modern technology trends and adapt them to internal needs.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
