Job Overview:
The National SRH Program Analyst serves as the principal adviser at the national level for integrated technical and program assistance and advocacy on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). This role involves analyzing and assessing relevant policy, social, and economic trends related to SRH, identifying opportunities for UNFPA technical assistance, and guiding the delivery of UNFPA’s programs. The analyst will work closely with all Program and Operation personnel, reporting directly to the UNFPA Assistant Representative and ultimately to the UNFPA Representative. The position requires a strategic approach to provide high-quality technical assistance for advancing the Country Program Document (CPD) priorities and transformative results in both development and emergency contexts, with a focus on the quality of SRH services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The National SRH Program Analyst will be responsible for providing strategic and high-quality technical assistance and programmatic support in various areas of SRH, including maternal health, family planning, contraceptive supply chains, gender-based violence prevention, comprehensive sexuality education, and emergency preparedness. Key responsibilities include strengthening primary healthcare systems, improving access to SRH services for marginalized communities, developing policies and frameworks for SRH, guiding the implementation of UNFPA’s technical assistance, and ensuring compliance with UNFPA policies and procedures. The analyst will also focus on capacity building, knowledge management, coordination, resource mobilization, representation, and communication, maintaining collaborative relationships with country office staff and external partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in health, medicine, or a related field with specialization in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology, or SRH in adolescents. A minimum of 2 years of specialized professional experience in SRH is required, with at least 2 years focused on contraceptives, family planning, and/or essential obstetric care. Strong understanding of the national health system and quality of care principles is essential, along with proven technical leadership in SRH and experience in program/project management. Familiarity with the UN/UNFPA mandate and experience working with vulnerable populations is desirable.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in health, medicine, or a related field with specialization in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology, or SRH in adolescents is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of SRH issues and for providing effective technical assistance and programmatic support.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of specialized professional experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), with a focus on contraceptives, family planning, and essential obstetric care. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the national health system and quality of care principles, as well as a proven track record of technical leadership in SRH. Experience in program/project management and international cooperation is also necessary, along with familiarity with the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is required for this position, as effective communication in both languages is essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders and partners in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health.
