Job Overview:
The Program Manager for Health Science, Lab Ecosystem will support the American Heart Association's National Center office, primarily based in Dallas, TX, but this role can also be home-based. This full-time position is part of the Periodic Table of Food Initiative (PTFI), which aims to provide standardized multi-omics tools and data to characterize food quality across the globe. The manager will coordinate a global network of laboratories and facilitate collaboration among various stakeholders in food, agriculture, and health. The role requires strong communication skills and knowledge in food composition analysis, food systems, and data science to effectively support the distribution and application of PTFI tools and training.

The Lab Ecosystem Manager will be responsible for several key functions:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant scientific field such as Nutrition, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Public Health, or Environmental Science, ideally with laboratory experience. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in interdisciplinary and multi-institutional projects is required, with global experience being preferred. Candidates should also have a strong understanding of food composition analysis, food systems research, and data science, along with excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant scientific discipline. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of food science and health, as well as for engaging in high-level scientific discussions and collaborations.
Experience:
The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience, particularly in interdisciplinary and multi-institutional projects. Candidates with global experience will be favored, as the role involves coordinating with international stakeholders and understanding diverse food systems and health challenges.
Languages:

- Monitoring: Track PTFI deliverables and project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Contracts and Agreements: Manage contracts and agreements with collaborating labs and service providers, ensuring compliance and timely processing of deliverables and financial disbursements.
