Job Overview:
The Axis Advisor will be a key member of the Fund Management Unit (FMU) of the SRRPF, providing leadership and expertise in political economy specifically related to Central Darfur. The Axis Advisor will be responsible for supporting local governance structures, ensuring effective oversight and reporting functions for the FMU, and aligning activities with the overall objectives of the fund. The Axis Advisor will report directly to the Fund Director, contributing to the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the SRRPF.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Axis Advisor will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: providing regular and nuanced analysis of the local political economy, identifying existing support structures, and advising on the geographic parameters of the Central Darfur axis. They will support the establishment of a local governance structure, act as the secretariat for the local governance board, and represent the FMU at the axis level. The advisor will also work closely with community leaders, authorities, and other stakeholders to foster productive relationships and ensure accountability. Additionally, they will oversee the implementation of policies, ensure compliance with operational frameworks, and provide updates and reports on emerging challenges and opportunities. The role also involves contributing to donor reporting requirements and supporting stakeholders responsible for auditing and monitoring.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in operational delivery within complex humanitarian settings. A strong understanding of the specific axis, along with existing relationships with key partners, is essential. The role requires experience in managing relationships with local, national, and international partners in the humanitarian sector, as well as skills in mapping and analysis.
