Duties and Responsibilities: The contractor will be responsible for reviewing existing educational databases in Guatemala, including census data, surveys, and administrative records from the Ministry of Education. They will analyze the availability of disaggregated data by department and municipality, focusing on various axes of social inequality. The contractor will develop a proposal for indicators to measure educational gaps based on the framework established for Mexico, considering aspects such as affordability, accessibility, acceptability, and adaptability of education. They will also conduct preliminary analyses of the proposed indicators and generate tabulated data to inform the national diagnostic report on educational gaps. Additionally, the contractor will assist the project team with data management, systematization, and visualization tasks as needed, and participate in relevant meetings and activities in Guatemala.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma, with a bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, economics, or social sciences being desirable. A minimum of three years of experience in data science or statistical analysis is required. The contractor must have expert proficiency in statistical software packages such as Stata, SPSS, Python, or R, as well as strong skills in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of social and educational issues is preferred, along with experience in innovative data visualization tools and metadata processing.
Educational Background: Candidates should have at least a high school diploma, with a preference for those holding a bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as data science, statistics, economics, or social sciences. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of educational data and the socio-economic factors influencing educational disparities.
