Job Overview:
The Communication Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the activities of the Working Groups (WGs) focused on the Green Transition Project in Moldova. This position involves coordinating the development and implementation of a strategic Communication and Public Outreach Plan that aligns with national policies and international best practices. The analyst will be responsible for identifying key stakeholders and target audiences, developing an editorial calendar, and monitoring the impact of communication activities. The goal is to enhance the visibility of the Working Group’s results and promote understanding of green and circular economy principles among the public and stakeholders. The analyst will engage with media, draft press releases, and create digital content to simplify complex topics related to sustainability and circularity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communication Analyst will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including:
  • Developing and implementing a strategic Communication and Public Outreach Plan for the Working Group on Green and Circular Economy.
  • Identifying key stakeholders and target audiences for effective communication.
  • Drafting and publishing press releases, success stories, newsletters, and reports to highlight WG activities.
  • Creating awareness campaigns to promote green and circular economy practices.
  • Engaging with media and stakeholders to enhance public understanding of sustainability.
  • Developing digital content such as infographics and videos.
  • Organizing public events and workshops to disseminate WG results.
  • Maintaining a stakeholder engagement strategy and facilitating consultations.
  • Supporting the Green Transition Project communication activities and ensuring visibility of UNDP and donor contributions. 1
  • Performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the WGs and the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communication, Public Relations, Sociology, International Relations, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with an additional two years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree. At least two years of progressive experience in communication, mass media, public relations, or a related area is required. Candidates should have experience in developing and implementing media/communication strategies and public outreach campaigns.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Journalism, Communication, Public Relations, Sociology, or International Relations. A Bachelor’s degree may be acceptable if accompanied by additional relevant experience. Additional training or certification in communication or new media is considered an advantage.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant experience in communication, mass media, public relations, or a related field. Candidates with proven experience in similar roles within UN Agencies will be viewed favorably. Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and public outreach campaigns is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English, Romanian, and Russian is mandatory. Knowledge of one or more minority languages relevant to Moldova, such as Romani, Gagauzian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, or sign language, is considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
The Communication Analyst will work closely with representatives from the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, contributing to the effective implementation of the WG’s communication and outreach plan. The position emphasizes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations. The role may involve organizing public events, drafting press releases, and ensuring the visibility of UNDP and donor contributions.
