Job Overview:
The Field Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities at construction and maintenance project sites. This role involves supervising contractors to ensure that all work is executed in accordance with contract documents, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to health and safety regulations. The incumbent will monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring compliance with specifications and conducting necessary tests. They will also evaluate and agree on quantities of executed work with contractors, verify payment requests, and ensure that all project documentation is accurately maintained. The engineer will prepare reports on project progress, manage site visits to resolve issues, and ensure that contractors meet all contractual obligations. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise all day-to-day activities at construction and maintenance project sites, ensuring compliance with contract documents and quality standards.
• Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, conducting necessary tests and inspections.
• Evaluate and agree on quantities of executed work with contractors, verifying payment requests and ensuring conformity with executed quantities.
• Maintain accurate records of working, shop, and as-built drawings, documenting any deviations from original plans.
• Prepare and discuss necessary variation orders and extensions of time with supervisors, assessing additional work details and costs.
• Maintain records in the Facilities Management Information System (FMIS), including payments, variation orders, and project progress.
• Conduct site visits to resolve issues and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Review and monitor maintenance schedules, costs, and quality on a daily/weekly basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution. They should have a strong understanding of construction and maintenance processes, as well as the ability to manage projects effectively. Good communication skills and the ability to establish priorities are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate proven team leadership skills and commercial awareness, with the ability to perform at a supervisory level with minimal direct supervision.

Educational Background:
A university degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or institution is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary technical knowledge and skills to effectively oversee construction and maintenance projects.

Experience:
Candidates must have at least three years of experience in site supervision of construction, maintenance, or infrastructure projects. This experience should demonstrate the ability to manage projects effectively, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Languages:
A good knowledge of written and spoken English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in both languages is essential for effective communication within the team and with contractors.

Additional Notes:
The position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC) for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The monthly basic salary for this position is JOD 1,025.3
