Job Overview:
The Operations Assistant – Team Leader (Field Support) plays a crucial role in the oversight and management of movement activities related to the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). This position is vital for ensuring the safe and dignified transportation of Afghan evacuees and other humanitarian parolees. The Operations Assistant will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and Movement Operations Manager, directly overseeing field support teams at various locations, including airports and transit centers. The role requires a proactive approach to managing logistics, ensuring compliance with operational standards, and providing high-quality support to individuals in transit. The Operations Assistant will be responsible for leading teams, coordinating services, and ensuring that all activities align with IOM's mission and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Operations Assistant will undertake a variety of field activities, including monitoring and guiding teams of Operations Clerks and Assistants. They will lead Field Support Teams in providing airport services, which include verifying travel documentation, assisting with airport formalities, and ensuring the comfort and safety of individuals with special needs. The role also involves coordinating services at transit centers, managing meal provisions, and ensuring that all necessary support is provided to individuals during their stay. The Operations Assistant will be responsible for data entry and updates in relevant systems, reporting any issues to supervisors, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. Additionally, they will coordinate transportation logistics, assist with pre-departure formalities, and provide interpretation services as needed. Regular feedback on team performance and immediate reporting of any non-compliance or issues will also be part of the responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited institution, along with at least three years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a completed high school degree with five years of relevant experience is acceptable. Experience in movement operations or transportation is highly advantageous. A valid visa or residency permit to work in Qatar is mandatory. Strong computer skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and internet applications, are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a university degree from an accredited academic institution recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Candidates with a completed high school degree are also eligible if they have the requisite professional experience. The educational background should ideally be in a field related to operations, logistics, or humanitarian assistance, providing a solid foundation for the responsibilities of the role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have prior experience in movement operations or transportation, which is considered a strong advantage. This experience should ideally involve working in a humanitarian or operational context, demonstrating the ability to manage logistics and support individuals in transit effectively. Candidates should also have a proven track record of working in diverse environments and managing teams.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is a mandatory requirement for this position. Knowledge of Dari and Pashto is considered an added advantage, as these languages may be beneficial in communicating with Afghan evacuees. Proficiency in IOM's official languages, which include French and Spanish, may also be evaluated during the selection process, particularly if relevant to the role.

This position is open to candidates of all nationalities, and IOM Qatar will assist with the work visa and residency permit requirements for selected candidates.
