Job Overview: The Information Management Officer will play a crucial role in the Supporting Temporary Employment and Infrastructure Rehabilitation Programme (STEP) within UNRWA. This two-year project aims to create approximately 6,000 short-term cash-for-work opportunities while maintaining and rehabilitating installations such as schools and health clinics across the West Bank. The incumbent will work closely with the STEP management team to develop and implement effective tools for beneficiary assessment, selection, and monitoring, utilizing appropriate technology. The role involves establishing a comprehensive beneficiary database and ensuring the integrity and quality of data collected. The officer will also be responsible for compiling and analyzing data to support project reporting, providing insights into progress, constraints, and lessons learned. Additionally, the officer will mentor project field monitors in systematic data collection and reporting, ensuring that all information is valid, reliable, and timely. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of data quality and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the STEP management team to develop tools for beneficiary assessment, selection, and monitoring using appropriate technology.
Establish and maintain a beneficiary database and system for processing TEP beneficiaries' data, including a standby list.
Create a data processing and analysis system to generate statistical information for project reporting.
Compile baseline data for each project component and all project indicators.
Analyze data to assist the Project Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as ad hoc updates for stakeholders.
Provide capacity building and mentoring to Project Field monitors on data collection, compilation, and reporting.
Ensure the validity, reliability, precision, integrity, and timeliness of information through quality checks and corrective actions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited institution in Information Management or a relevant discipline. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible work experience in information management, program monitoring, reporting, stakeholder engagement, data collection, and conducting training and meetings is required. Candidates should also demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with data management software and tools is highly desirable, as is experience in capacity building and mentoring.
Educational Background: A university degree in Information Management or a related field is required. Candidates with additional relevant academic qualifications or certifications may be considered on an equivalency basis, particularly if they also possess additional years of progressive work experience in relevant areas.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in information management, program monitoring, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and data collection. Candidates should have a proven track record of conducting training and facilitating meetings, demonstrating their ability to work effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
Languages: Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic and English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but it is not required for this position.
Additional Notes: The contract type is a Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band 'F', with an initial duration of one year, subject to extension based on performance and funding availability. The monthly basic salary for this position is JOD 1,213.3
Additional benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave pro-rated to the duration of the contract, family allowance (if applicable), sick leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave. The vacancy is open to both internal candidates holding LDC contracts and external candidates.
