The consultant will work closely with the Partnership Development Advisor to research funding opportunities, coordinate proposal development, and support donor reporting. The role requires a strategic approach to identify and engage potential partners, including government agencies, multilateral donors, and philanthropic foundations. The consultant will leverage their expertise and network to facilitate introductions, develop donor profiles, and articulate ATscale's vision and impact to diverse audiences. This position is designed for individuals with a strong background in resource mobilization and partnership engagement, particularly in the context of international development and assistive technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Donor Identification and Engagement: Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with key donors who align with ATscale's mission. Develop comprehensive donor profiles by conducting thorough research on their funding priorities and trends. Present ATscale's vision and mission to high-level contacts, tailoring presentations to resonate with different audiences. Facilitate introductions and meetings between ATscale and relevant contacts within the consultant's area of expertise.
Proposal Development and Evaluation: Contribute to the design and development of concept notes and proposals for ATscale programs, ensuring alignment with donor interests. Review and refine proposals, providing expert input on content, implementation plans, and monitoring frameworks. Conduct detailed evaluations of proposals, assessing their strategic value and alignment with ATscale's priorities.
Strategic Insights and Resource Mobilization: Offer informed perspectives on trends and opportunities related to partnership engagement and funding. Identify potential collaborators for resource mobilization, leveraging the consultant's network and expertise.
Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other related duties as required to contribute to ATscale's resource mobilization efforts. Be prepared to travel for in-person meetings or reviews as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in proposal design, partnership development, and/or grant management. This experience should include work with Official Development Assistance (ODA) agencies, large institutional foundations, international development banks, philanthropic family offices, and private sector partnerships. A strong network of active donor contacts is highly desirable. Familiarity with disability rights and inclusion, as well as experience in international development or humanitarian aid, is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Educational Background: A University Degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in social science, political science, international relations, media and communication, journalism, marketing, business, economics, development studies, resource mobilization, or international development is preferred. A Bachelor's degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be acceptable in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, particularly in areas such as proposal design, partnership development, and grant management. Candidates should have experience working with high-income donor countries, large foundations, international development banks, and private sector partnerships. Experience in managing country missions and overseeing regional budgets is also beneficial. Familiarity with assistive technology or the disability and inclusion sector is desirable.
Languages: Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The contract type for this position is an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA) on a retainer basis, with a contract level of ICS-11 (IICA 3 / LICA 11). The initial contract duration is one year, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.
