Job Overview: The internship program at the American Heart Association provides college students with hands-on experience in a non-profit environment, particularly for those interested in health services and community engagement. Interns will work approximately 20 hours per week from May 19, 2025, to August 22, 2025, in a hybrid setting, primarily in the Nashville/Murfreesboro, TN region. Specific responsibilities include planning and executing pre-event logistics, managing on-site event activities, conducting outreach to attendees, researching potential sponsors, preparing presentation materials, and assisting with data entry and reporting. Additionally, interns will provide administrative support by preparing printed materials, organizing event supplies, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be seniors or graduate students pursuing degrees in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management. They should possess experience or a strong interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising, along with excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively with community leaders and volunteers is essential, as is proficiency in social media platforms and Microsoft Office applications. Interns must also have reliable WiFi and transportation, and be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week during standard business hours.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management is required.
