Duties and Responsibilities: The Development Director will be responsible for several key duties, including:
Recruitment and cultivation of school volunteers for K-12 partnerships with the AHA.
Developing and implementing plans to meet revenue and volunteer recruitment goals, including securing sponsorships and donations.
Managing accounts and promoting the AHA's cause in existing and potential school accounts.
Implementing life-saving initiatives such as the Kids Heart Challenge programs.
Recruiting, training, and developing volunteers at various levels within the assigned schools.
Establishing and maintaining excellent customer service relations with school contacts.
Attending all mandated meetings and trainings.
Performing summer cultivation activities with school administrators.
Daily travel to visit 5-10 schools, requiring reliable transportation and the ability to lift/move large objects as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a university or college degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for those who have at least 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or a similar field. Essential skills include excellent marketing, communication, and relationship-building abilities, as well as the capacity to analyze and forecast sales data. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in presentations and spreadsheets, is required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to travel locally up to 75% of the time, with reliable transportation available at all times.
