Job Overview:
The Development Director, School Engagement position at the American Heart Association is a pivotal role that focuses on building and maintaining partnerships with K-12 schools in southern and central Maine. This position is primarily remote but requires in-person engagement with schools in the designated territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying effective sales techniques to recruit new school accounts and manage existing partnerships, all aimed at achieving revenue generation and program goals. The role involves significant interaction with school volunteers and administrators, necessitating strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to the AHA's mission. The Development Director will also be tasked with implementing life-saving initiatives, such as the Kids Heart Challenge programs, and ensuring that schools are well-supported in their fundraising efforts. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Director will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:

  • Managing accounts and promoting the AHA's cause within existing and potential school accounts.

  • Attending all required meetings and training sessions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Development Director position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A university or college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or a related field.
  • Excellent marketing, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical skills to forecast sales and interpret numerical data.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication, consultation, and comprehensive planning.
