Job Overview:
The Knowledge Management Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the Global Programme on Nature for Development, which encompasses various initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development through biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management. This position requires a proactive approach to research and analysis, focusing on emerging trends in biodiversity and sustainable development to inform the creation of educational content. The officer will be responsible for designing engaging materials, organizing virtual events, and maintaining online learning platforms. The role emphasizes collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of educational content, as well as the development of strategies to enhance user engagement with e-learning offerings. The incumbent will also be tasked with monitoring the effectiveness of e-learning courses and integrating innovative technologies into the learning platform, ensuring that the educational materials are accessible and meet the needs of diverse audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Knowledge Management Officer will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including: conducting research and analysis on biodiversity and sustainable development trends; designing infographics and promotional materials for e-learning initiatives; developing content strategies for e-learning courses; collaborating with experts to ensure content accuracy; organizing and managing virtual events and webinars; maintaining online learning platforms; coordinating translations and localization of materials; creating interactive data visualizations; documenting user guides and tutorials; monitoring course effectiveness through user feedback; collaborating with IT teams to integrate innovative tools; managing digital asset libraries; ensuring compliance with accessibility standards; and managing user engagement campaigns through newsletters and social media.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess relevant qualifications that demonstrate their ability to perform the duties of the Knowledge Management Officer. This includes a strong background in education, instructional design, multimedia content creation, or related fields. Experience in biodiversity, climate change, or social entrepreneurship is highly desirable. Candidates should also exhibit strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in fields such as arts, communication, environmental management, international relations, or related disciplines. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two years of relevant experience or a secondary school diploma with six years of relevant experience will also be considered. The educational background should align with the responsibilities of the role, particularly in biodiversity planning and research.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant professional experience working on topics related to education, instructional design, multimedia content creation, or biodiversity and sustainable development. Experience in engaging with civil society, local economic development, or social impact initiatives is also beneficial. The level of experience should reflect the ability to contribute effectively to the Global Programme on Nature for Development and its objectives.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the UN system. Additional Notes:
This position is offered as an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA) under a retainer modality, with a contract duration of six months and the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The role is home-based, requiring the selected candidate to ensure a secure internet connection and necessary equipment for work. The contract will specify a unit price per day worked, and payment will be made upon completion of work.
