Job Overview:
The Trainer (PM Certification (PRINCE2/MSP) (Retainer) position is part of UNOPS’ commitment to enhancing project management capacity. The role involves delivering PRINCE2 and MSP training across UNOPS offices, ensuring that training is tailored to the needs of personnel and external partners. Trainers will be engaged through a competitive recruitment process and will be responsible for preparing training materials, conducting training sessions, and providing feedback to improve training delivery. The position is flexible, with assignments varying in scope and duration, and may require occasional travel or presence in HQ. Trainers will also participate in an induction session to familiarize themselves with UNOPS processes and tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and Planning: Develop tailored content and educational training materials in coordination with IPMG; review and incorporate updates to PRINCE2 and MSP training content as needed.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct engaging face-to-face or online training sessions, ensuring participants are well-prepared for certification exams with a minimum 80% pass rate; provide additional support to participants, including mentoring and guidance on study approaches.
  • Feedback and Reporting: Provide thorough feedback to IPMG to evaluate and improve training delivery; complete post-training reports to document key elements, improvement areas, and assess session performance and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
An advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in Project Management, Business Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Education, or Social Sciences is required. A first-level university degree or bachelor's degree with seven years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree. Candidates must have a minimum of five years in a role involving teaching or delivering training, three years of practical experience in project/programme management, and at least ten days of experience delivering classroom-based training in PRINCE2 or MSP.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Project Management, Business Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Education, or Social Sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree or bachelor's degree with seven years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a master's degree.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in roles that include teaching or delivering training responsibilities. Additionally, a minimum of three years of practical experience in project management or programme management is required. Experience delivering classroom-based training in PRINCE2 or MSP for at least ten days is also necessary. Desired experience includes managing and delivering project/programme management training courses and designing training agendas and materials.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is highly desirable, as it would enhance communication and training delivery in diverse environments.

Additional Notes:
This position is a retainer contract, which means it is not a full-time role. The contract may involve short-term assignments with varying scopes and durations. While most assignments can be conducted remotely, some may require travel or presence in HQ. Candidates must complete mandatory courses before providing services to UNOPS, and these courses are not compensated. The contract is for one year, renewable based on performance and business needs.
