Job Overview: The Business Services Specialist will provide comprehensive operational support to the Private Sector Engagement Business Services Team at WWF. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient execution of business processes, tasks, and projects related to corporate donorship and fundraising activities. The specialist will be responsible for streamlining workflows, coordinating internal communications, and assisting with the preparation of reports and documentation. The position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to support team objectives, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to the successful delivery of services. The specialist will engage with various stakeholders in a dynamic environment, fostering collaboration across teams and departments to achieve shared goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Business Services Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Completing tasks associated with the corporate fundraising process, such as submitting corporate revenue agreements for signature via DocuSign, preparing payment requests, and tracking pledges and gifts.
Working closely with Accounting and Fundraising Operations to ensure accurate coding of corporate gifts and pledges.
Developing process guidance documents for corporate fundraising activities in accordance with Private Sector Engagement rules and accounting principles.
Supporting the Business Services Team in producing and distributing standardized fundraising and corporate engagement reports.
Entering major giving plans and corporate donor details into multiple data systems accurately and in a timely manner.
Assisting with data audits to maintain data integrity and cleanliness.
Saving executed corporate revenue agreements and other important documents in the appropriate repositories.
Learning and adhering to Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) applicable to corporate gifts and pledges.
Assisting in the upkeep of policies and procedures related to CRM and other data systems.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Business Services Specialist position must possess a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a non-profit fundraising environment. Proficiency in CRM systems, preferably Blackbaud CRM, is required. The candidate should have a meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize their workload effectively. Strong written communication skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, are essential. The candidate must also demonstrate strong relationship management skills and the ability to communicate, influence, and collaborate with others to achieve successful results. A proactive, flexible, and mature approach to the role is necessary, along with a commitment to building a culture of inclusion within and across teams.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, ideally in a field related to business administration, nonprofit management, or a similar area that supports the functions of fundraising and donor engagement. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in organizational processes, financial management, and communication skills necessary for effective performance in this role.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a non-profit fundraising environment. This experience should include familiarity with corporate fundraising processes, donor stewardship, and resource management. The candidate should also have experience in process coordination and data management, demonstrating the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
