Job Overview:
The National SRH Program Analyst serves as the principal adviser at the national level for integrated technical and program technical assistance and advocacy on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). This role involves analyzing and assessing relevant policy, social, and economic trends related to SRH, identifying opportunities for UNFPA technical assistance, and guiding the delivery of UNFPA’s programs. The analyst will work closely with all Program and Operation personnel, reporting directly to the UNFPA Assistant Representative and ultimately to the UNFPA Representative. The position requires providing strategic and high-quality technical assistance for advancing the Country Program Document (CPD) priorities and the three transformative results in both development and emergency contexts, with a focus on the quality of SRH services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality technical assistance and programmatic support in areas such as Maternal Health, Family Planning, contraceptives, supply chain management, GBV prevention, Comprehensive Sexuality Education, and emergency preparedness.
  • Strengthen primary healthcare systems and referral systems to ensure high-quality emergency obstetric and neonatal care services.
  • Improve access to SRH services for marginalized groups, including afro-descendants, indigenous populations, adolescents, and women from rural communities.
  • Develop and update policies, frameworks, and tools related to SRH.
  • Guide and implement the delivery of UNFPA SRH technical assistance and monitor activities and results.
  • Ensure compliance with UNFPA policies and procedures, including financial and administrative guidelines.
  • Support capacity building and knowledge management initiatives at national and institutional levels.
  • Enhance coordination and communication among partners to optimize resource use.
  • Represent UNFPA at national and regional levels on SRH issues, engaging in policy dialogue and advocacy. 1
  • Supervise consultants, Implementing Partners, and program personnel, ensuring collaborative relationships within the country office.

Required Qualifications:
  • An advanced degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in health, medicine, or a related field with specialization in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology, or SRH in adolescents.
  • A minimum of 2 years of specialized professional experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), with at least 2 years focused on contraceptives, family planning, and/or essential obstetric care.
  • Strong understanding of the national health system and quality of care principles.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership in SRH with demonstrable results.
  • Experience in program/project management and international cooperation.
  • Familiarity with the UN/UNFPA mandate and monitoring tools is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in health, medicine, or a related field, with a specialization in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology, or related areas. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively address the complexities of SRH issues and contribute to the strategic goals of UNFPA.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of specialized professional experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), with a focus on contraceptives, family planning, and essential obstetric care. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the national health system and quality of care principles, along with a proven track record of technical leadership in SRH. Experience in program/project management and international cooperation is also essential, as well as familiarity with the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is required for this position, as effective communication in both languages is crucial for engaging with diverse stakeholders and partners in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health.
